Sonny grew up in California with his adopted parents, Michael and Audrey, and older brother, his parents only birth child, Mike. When he was six he found out that he was adopted. Michael, his father, told him. He had run into a vase at home, Michael hit him and screamed that they never should have gotten him. That was only the first hit, the rest came in time- Slowly but surely. And during the time, Sonny had learned to do things that let him not get hit. Keep everything perfectly clean, stay small so his father wouldn't hit him for being fat. Until he was twelve and Mike, his older brother, saw Sonny with his first boyfriend.. kissing. He of course told their father and the beatings contiuned daily after that no matter what Sonny did.
until he finally ran away from home soon after his eighteeth birthday after his father had tried to kill him- leaving him a scar on his side, and making Sonny afraid of anymore kind of scars. He moved to Chimera where he met Smith, and had fallen for him completely. Sonny had a problem with his weight that Smith helped him get over- or so everyone thought. Recently Sonny had enrolled in school and with work and with his boyfriend completely ignoring him- Sonny had fallen back and all the weight he had gained was lost as he had stopped eating again. He called his best friend Randy- crying and hurt who then had Sonny agreeing to move away from Chimera and to Chicago with him and Randy's fiance Gale. Sonny was only to happy to oblidge. So he left Smith and his life in Chimera to move here.
